The delegation was received by senior government officials, who were present for discussions on Nigeria\u2019s ongoing reform agenda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In remarks delivered at the State House, the World Bank official commended Nigeria\u2019s progress, noting that the country\u2019s determination to implement reforms consistently had positioned it as an example for other nations. Bjerde said Nigeria\u2019s reform efforts over the past two years have been noted internationally for their credibility and consistency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The World Bank MD highlighted the importance of the reforms in building confidence among investors, policymakers and the private sector. She said the positive outcomes of the reform program have contributed to Nigeria\u2019s recognition on the global stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bjerde also spoke about the forthcoming <strong>Country Partnership Framework<\/strong> between the World Bank and Nigeria, stating that it will be based on Nigeria\u2019s national development objectives. These include goals such as achieving a <strong>$1 trillion gross domestic product (GDP)<\/strong> and sustaining <strong>7 per cent economic growth<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the meeting, the World Bank\u2019s managing director called for continued improvements in access to finance for enterprises of all sizes, particularly mid-sized firms, which she described as critical for job creation. She emphasised the role of enterprises in driving economic growth and employment opportunities across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bjerde also drew attention to Nigeria\u2019s focus on strengthening <strong>early childhood development<\/strong>, describing it as essential to long-term national productivity. She assured the Nigerian government of the World Bank\u2019s ongoing support in this area as part of the broader development partnership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The World Bank managing director reiterated the institution\u2019s commitment to supporting Nigeria\u2019s reform agenda through its various arms, including the <strong>International Development Association (IDA)<\/strong>, <strong>International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD)<\/strong>, and the <strong>International Finance Corporation (IFC)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>President Tinubu and Vice-President Shettima welcomed the World Bank delegation at the State House and engaged in discussions on strengthening cooperation with the global lender.
